FAQ
Questions and Answers
Who do you represent in a transaction?
Advisory is primarily focused on representing the buyer, ensuring independence and alignment throughout the acquisition process. Where appropriate, specific mandates may differ depending on the nature of the transaction.
At what stage should legal advisory begin?
Ideally before any form of commitment is made. Early-stage advisory allows for proper structuring of the transaction and identification of risks before contractual obligations arise.
Do you assist with the entire acquisition process?
Yes. The advisory framework covers all stages of the transaction — from initial structuring and due diligence through to completion and post-acquisition matters.
Do you work with international clients?
Yes. The practice is primarily focused on international clients involved in cross-border property acquisitions. Advisory is provided in English, German, Polish and Spanish.
Do you coordinate with tax advisors and other professionals?
Where required, trusted independent professionals (including tax advisors and accountants) are engaged to ensure that all aspects of the transaction are properly addressed and aligned.
Can you assist remotely?
In most cases, yes. The majority of the process can be managed remotely, including through the use of power of attorney where appropriate.
Do you handle only residential property acquisitions?
The advisory framework applies primarily to residential property acquisitions, while also accommodating more complex structures where required.
How are advisory engagements structured?
Each mandate is structured individually following an initial consultation, taking into account the complexity, transaction structure and level of involvement required. Where appropriate, advisory arrangements may be structured on a fixed or tailored basis depending on the nature of the mandate.
